This Sunday, David Walsh will officiate his last match in the A-League Men's competition as Brisbane Roar takes on Auckland FC at Suncorp Stadium. The game will mark Walsh's 203rd and final match in the league.
David Walsh's journey in the A-League Men's competition spans 16 seasons commencing on the 8th August 2009. His level of sustained excellence was proven when he was appointed to the 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017 Grand Finals and the 2021 Australia Cup Final.
In addition to his domestic achievements, Walshy had an outstanding international career as a FIFA Assistant Referee for 6 years between 2013 and 2018, joining the AFC Elite Panel in 2014. Debuting in a World Cup Qualifier between New Zealand and New Caledonia in March 2013, which was quickly followed up by his first AFC level match in a February 2014 AFC Qualifier in Thailand.
