Born in Wallsend in 1927, Harry Hetherington was a foundation official of the Maitland club.
He was a key club figure in the 1960s when they won major honours.
As a player, Hetherington had a total of 250 senior games with Wallsend and Mayfield United in the Northern NSW competitions.
He held office as secretary, registrar and director of the Northern NSW Federation and became the official Federation recorder.
Hetherington has compiled an extensive history of NSW and Northern NSW soccer including programs, match line-ups and reports.
