Across the country, football clubs are making incredible progresses in growing and supporting women and girls in the game. As part of 西瓜影视鈥檚 Club Changer program, nine clubs have been recognised this month for their outstanding commitment to creating inclusive environments and opportunities for female players, coaches, referees, and volunteers. Here鈥檚 how each club is driving positive change in their communities:
South Canberra FC (Capital Football)
South Canberra FC has demonstrated immense dedication to growing women鈥檚 and girls鈥 football. Their proactive approach includes expanding programs, providing leadership opportunities, and fostering a culture that values inclusivity at every level of the club. Their passion for creating a welcoming environment has positioned them as leaders in the ACT football community.
Hobart City FC (Football Tasmania)
Hobart City FC has become a beacon for the women's game in Tasmania, with major increases in female participation and an active focus on developing female leadership roles. Their work to create pathways and support networks is building a sustainable future for women and girls in football across the region.
Mt Barker United SC (Football South Australia)
Mt Barker United has set a shining example by heavily investing in women and girls' programs, growing participation numbers and creating welcoming environments for female players of all ages. Their 鈥渨hole club鈥 approach includes strong community engagement and support initiatives that ensure girls and women thrive on and off the field.
Camden Falcons FC (Football NSW)
Camden Falcons are making a significant impact through tailored programs for women and girls, showcasing their commitment to player development, coaching education, and leadership opportunities. Their efforts have seen a dramatic rise in female registrations and set a high standard for inclusive club culture in New South Wales.
Colac Otway Rovers AFC (Football Victoria)
In regional Victoria, Colac Otway Rovers AFC are leading a new era for women and girls in football. The club has worked tirelessly to create new opportunities, support female leadership, and celebrate women鈥檚 involvement at every level, ensuring that players from grassroots to competitive levels feel seen and supported.
Hamersley Rovers SC (Football West)
Hamersley Rovers SC has experienced remarkable growth, doubling their female player base to over 220 and expanding from four girls鈥 teams to at least 11 in just a few years. Now among the top ten largest clubs in WA, Hamersley Rovers鈥 commitment to development pathways, coaching, and community support for women鈥檚 football is truly inspiring.
Mindil Aces FC (Football Northern Territory)
Mindil Aces have spent years building a strong and successful girls鈥 and women鈥檚 program, culminating in winning all three senior trophies last season with a squad featuring many homegrown players. Their focus on encouraging young girls in mixed competitions, promoting junior players into senior teams, and offering female-focused events like come-and-try days has seen their female player base grow from 31% to 39% in one year. Proudly led by female committee members and coaching staff, Mindil ensures women鈥檚 football is prioritised, supported, and celebrated at every level.
Scone Mustangs FC (Northern NSW Football)
The Scone Mustangs have embraced programs like MiniRoos Kick-Off for Girls - MiTillies, attracting new female players and growing grassroots football. Their strategic focus after the Women's World Cup has been on increasing female participation across players, referees, volunteers, and coaches. Their energy and inclusive mindset are setting a strong foundation for the future, including plans for senior women's football teams.
Willowburn FC (Football Queensland)
Willowburn FC is kicking goals both on and off the field when it comes to women鈥檚 and girls鈥 football. Since 2023, they have nearly doubled the number of senior females, and tripled the number of junior females, with the club now boasting two all-girls MiniRoos teams. There has also been a surge in female coaching, with nearly triple the number of female coaches involved in 2025 compared to previous seasons. Driven by their Women and Girls Ambassador, female football at Willowburn FC keeps reaching new heights.
