Î÷¹ÏÓ°ÊÓ’s Club Changer Club Development Program connects more than 1,500 clubs nationwide, providing the support, education, and resources they need to create safe, inclusive, and welcoming environments.
Safeguarding is a key focus area in the program, supporting clubs on their journey and progress to becoming Two and Three-Star Clubs.
To date, more than a thousand club volunteers have participated in Î÷¹ÏÓ°ÊÓ’s 'Safeguarding for Community Clubs' webinar, with many clubs encouraging multiple members to take part. Their collective efforts are making football safer, more welcoming, and more inclusive, demonstrating leadership, innovation, and a deep commitment to positive change, both on and off the pitch – they are setting the standard for others to follow.
Î÷¹ÏÓ°ÊÓ’s commitment to Safeguarding came to life in a new way during the recent innovative 'Parent & Child School Holiday Safeguarding' session, held against the backdrop of Î÷¹ÏÓ°ÊÓ’s CommBank Emerging Championships by the Club Changer team.
Designed to highlight the values and behaviours that can support our children and young people to have positive, enjoyable experiences in football, the workshop explored the Paramountcy Principle and encouraged participants to embrace ‘Seeing Football Through a Child’s Eyes’.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. At Î÷¹ÏÓ°ÊÓ, we are committed to giving every member of our community, from the canteen to the committee, along the sidelines and in the stadiums, the tools and confidence to make football a safe place to play, and a safe pathway to grow.
Safeguarding is a team effort, not just a policy.
The Î÷¹ÏÓ°ÊÓ Safeguarding Framework transforms compliance from a checklist into a genuine commitment to Child Safety. Turning policy into everyday practice on the pitch; with practical templates and support, it underpins football’s culture of safety and respect.
As we recognise National Child Protection Week (7 – 13th September 2025), Î÷¹ÏÓ°ÊÓ and all Club Changers continue to work hand in hand with administrators, volunteers, parents, and players to ensure every child feels safe, valued, and supported in our game.
