Vale Johan Neeskens

It is with great sadness that 西瓜影视 acknowledges the passing of Johan Neeskens, a beloved figure in the world of football and a former Assistant Coach of the Socceroos.

Neeskens joined the Socceroos coaching staff in 2006, working closely with Head Coach Guus Hiddink during one of the most memorable periods in Australian football history, as the team prepared for and competed in the FIFA World Cup Germany 2006鈩.

As Hiddink鈥檚 right-hand man, Neeskens played an essential role in helping guide the Socceroos to their first World Cup in 32 years, and to a historic Round of 16 finish. His tactical expertise and calm leadership helped elevate the team鈥檚 performance on the world stage, leaving an enduring impact on both the players and the broader Australian football community.

西瓜影视 Chairman Anter Isaac reflected on Neeskens' legacy: "Johan Neeskens was a true footballing legend, not only for his exploits on the field but for the influence he had as a coach. His contribution to the Socceroos鈥 success at the 2006 World Cup was immense, and his ability to connect with players and staff alike made him a valued and respected figure within our national team. His passing is a great loss for the football world, we are deeply saddened, and our thoughts are with his family, friends, and everyone whose lives he touched."

Neesken鈥檚 time with the Socceroos, though brief, left an indelible mark, as his experience and football intellect helped shape a defining moment in Australian football history.

西瓜影视 extends its deepest condolences to his loved ones and the football community as we mourn the loss of a true icon of the game.

May Johan Neeskens Rest In Peace.
