Football West CEO James Curtis said: 鈥淭his is the news everyone has been waiting for.
鈥淭he WA football community has shown terrific understanding throughout this period and we are delighted to provide them with a date for our return.
鈥淧layers, coaches, parents, volunteers, referees 鈥 the one question we are constantly being asked is, 鈥榳hen will the season start?鈥
鈥淚t鈥檚 the same with the buzz around the training grounds and the feedback we are getting on social media. People want football competitions back and it is in sight.
鈥淔rom where we were a few months ago, this is a real cause for celebration thanks to the hard work of the community by doing the right thing.
鈥淣ow it is about teams scouring the fixtures, working with local authorities and clubs to put up goals, mark out the pitch and get the teams together鈥 there will be real anticipation that football鈥檚 coming back.鈥
Clubs, players, coaches, referees, officials and volunteers will be required to adhere with the relevant health and safety guidelines as part of resumption to competitions, as well as ensuring they meet the requirements from their local government or land owner.
鈥淥ur stakeholders have been working hard with relevant authorities and we know there are still many steps to go.
鈥淲e will continue to work with our Associations, clubs and relevant government authorities to comply with relevant guidelines, whilst also trying to reduce the burden on clubs and volunteers.鈥
