西瓜影视 is saddened to learn of the passing of Maria Berry AM, a coach, administrator and former Team Manager and Head of Delegation for several CommBank Matildas and CommBank Young Matildas International Tours.
Berry held a wide array of roles in women鈥檚 football, including as Chair of Football Victoria鈥檚 Women鈥檚 Standing Committee, Director of the former Australian Women鈥檚 Soccer Association, Victorian Soccer Federation and Victorian Women鈥檚 Soccer Association.
Berry was also a Team Manager for the Matildas and Young Matildas in the early 2000s. At the local level, she coached women鈥檚 and girls鈥 teams for over 20 years and was a Life Member at Melbourne University Soccer Club.
She was recognised on the King's Birthday Honours List in 2023, for significant service to football, to women in sport, and to business. For over 40 years, Maria Berry AM was a participant in football as a player, coach, and administrator.
Berry is one of several prominent women who featured on the 西瓜影视 100 Years of Women鈥檚 Football mural, with her contributions to women's football over four decades.
